Well hey there, glad you've found us. I thought I'd answer this today as I get asked this question quite often, so I thought I'd give you an idea what does happen in our women's Krav Maga classes!
Well just like any fitness class we’ll start with a warm up, then once you’re all warmed and stretched we’ll get the blood pumping with some strength building exercises before focusing on the techniques of the day.
Techniques could be anything from verbally de-escalating a situation to disarming and escaping a knife wielding attacker.
Don’t panic though, because Krav Maga is based on natural responses it’s intuitive to learn, and we break each technique down into step by step sequences to keep it simple. You’ll quickly lose that ‘oh shit’ what am I doing here feeling to actually doing the movements fluidly and instinctively. And…. most importantly by the end of class, you’ll feel incredibly empowered to have earned a real life skill that you can take and use straight away in a situation if you really had to.
Of course Krav Maga takes regular practise to build your confidence & become proficient but after a while you’ll feel that if someone does attack you, you’ll stand a very real chance of surviving and let’s be honest that’s why all women should learn some self defence.
We usually finish with a bit of fun and put it all together in a summary drill, designed to simulate a stressful situation so you can test out what you’ve learned and see if you can perform under pressure.
